I agree with your points. I would argue though, every country goes through a similar collapse. Different diseases, but similar collapse. The one thing most people seem keen on ignoring is, how young the US is. Most countries, from the UK, to Germany, to France, Italy, etc. have gone through convulsive histories of collapse and reinvention. As history dictates, it’s probably time for the US.
